Vienna woman faces drug charges after raid

Charges were filed this week and a court appearance was scheduled for next month for a Vienna woman taken into custody along with a Missouri Department of Corrections supervisor from St. Louis after authorities served a drug search warrant at the woman's Maries County property this past weekend.

Sammi M. Shockley, 38, Vienna, is charged with three counts of possession of a controlled substance and one count of unlawful use of drug paraphernalia. She had been on probation for felony possession of a controlled substance and for fraudulent use of a credit device when she was arrested.

As of Wednesday afternoon, the Maries County Prosecuting Attorney's Office reported charges were still under review against Anthony Williams, 46, of St. Louis, who has been employed as a major and chief of custody at the South Central Correctional Center in Licking.

The arrests came after members of the Maries County SWAT team and Lake Area Narcotics Enforcement Group served the warrant on property owned by Shockley in the 35000 block of U.S. 63 in Vienna.

Deputies found firearms and several suspected controlled substances, including methamphetamine, LSD, controlled tablets and marijuana, as well as drug paraphernalia and items related to the distribution of controlled substances.
