Lincoln baseball falls

The Missouri S&T Miners scored multiple runs in five of the six innings Wednesday afternoon in a 22-7 victory against the Lincoln Blue Tigers in baseball action shortened by rain at Lincoln Field.

The Miners (8-7) scored three times in the top of the first inning, twice in the second, nine times in the third and four times in both the fourth and fifth.

Lincoln scored a run in the bottom of the second when a single by Trevor Schnieders brought home B.J. Nesbitt.

The Blue Tigers plated five runs in the third, keyed by a grand slam by Schnieders. The other run came home on a double by Alex Ludwick.

Lincoln scored its final run in the fourth on a double by Dylan Koehler.

Schnieders and Dylan Koehler had two hits each in an eight-hit Lincoln attack. Kaleb Davis and Nesbitt scored twice each for the Blue Tigers.

Kolton Clark pitched the first two innings to take the loss for Lincoln.

Lincoln (0-14) is back in action starting Friday in a four-game series at Southwest Baptist.
