Why isn't Holts Summit its own school district?
We've lived here since 1979 and have seen Holts Summit become a thriving community. By removing Holts Summit students from Jefferson City Schools, Jefferson City would be more able to manage its population. There's even the possibility of Holts Summit merging with New Bloomfield. "New Summit: Home of the Fighters Fishers" (Fishers are one mean animal!)
Also, teens who drive want to drive to school. Why should teens from Holts Summit need to cross the bridge, especially in winter, to western Jefferson City, site of the possible new school? That's a long way and a lot of gasoline.
