A Jefferson City woman was injured in a two-vehicle accident at 6:33 a.m. Friday on U.S. 63 at Tom Bass Road in Boone County.
According to the Missouri Highway Patrol report, a 2013 Ford Escape, driven southbound by Cheryl M. Castaner, 61, Columbia, was attempting to pass a 2002 Pontiac Grand AM, driven southbound by Taylor B. Woodland, 22, Jefferson City, which was traveling in the passing lane. The Castaner vehicle tried to merge into the passing lane and struck the Woodland vehicle.
Woodland was taken to Boone Hospital in Columbia.
Both drivers were wearing seat belts.
