COLUMBIA, S.C. - The Missouri softball team completed a three-game sweep of Southeastern Conference foe South Carolina on Monday with an 8-0 win.
Tori Finucane threw a complete-game shutout to earn her second win in as many nights. She allowed just two hits and a walk.
Missouri was also held off the scoreboard until the top of the fifth, when freshman Amanda Sanchez hit a solo home run. It was her second career homer, the first coming Sunday with the bases loaded.
The 21st-ranked Tigers broadened their lead in the inning when the Gamecocks issued a bases-loaded walk to Taylor Gadbois after two errors. Junior Emily Crane walked another run in before Sami Fagan and Angela Randazzo poked RBI singles.
Kelsea Roth added some cushion with a two-run homer in the sixth.
The Tigers (13-0, 3-0 SEC) will host Southeast Missouri State on Wednesday.
