Tuscumbia splits with Glasgow

STURGEON, Mo. - Tuscumbia and Glasgow split a boys-girls Class 1 sectional doubleheader Tuesday night.

Tuscumbia won the girls game 47-30.

The Lady Lions jumped out to a 28-10 lead the half and led 39-22 after three quarters on their way to the victory.

Tuscumbia (26-3) is back in action Saturday in the quarterfinals against Mercer (29-0) at Salisbury High School. Game time is 7:45 p.m. Glasgow ends its season at 19-10.

In the boys game, Tuscumbia rallied but fell just short in dropping a 41-39 decision in the first game Tuesday night.

Glasgow led 12-4 after one quarter, 24-18 at the half and 38-31 after three quarters. Tuscumbia opened the final quarter strong and trailed 38-37 with a little more than five minutes remaining.

Tuscumbia ends its season at 19-9. Glasgow (24-5) will face Meadville (29-0) in the quarterfinals Saturday night at Salisbury.
