Sewer Work on Lafayette Street has been postponed

Weather conditions have postponed sewer work scheduled for this week on Lafayette Street in Jefferson City.

The work could take place next week, weather permitting.

The work is taking place as part of the Lafayette Street Interchange project, a two-year, approximately $20-million project to improve safety and traffic flow along U.S. 50. This project includes building a new interchange at 50 and Lafayette Street; adding a lane in each direction on 50 from Monroe Street to Lafayette and from Lafayette to Clark Avenue; and improvements to six bridges along the corridor.

For more information about this project, visit the project website at modot.org/central/major_projects/LafayetteInterchange.htm.
