Snow coming to an end today across Mid-Missouri

Light snow will linger across central portions of Missouri through the morning hours and gradually end during the afternoon.

Additional snowfall amounts will average an inch or less. Roads may remain snow-packed and slippery in many locations, so use caution if traveling today.

The National Weather Service has issued the following weather statement for much of Central Missouri.

...WINTER WEATHER ADVISORY REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 6 PM CST THIS EVENING...

  • TIMING... SNOW WILL GRADUALLY DIMINISH TODAY.
  • TOTAL STORM ACCUMULATIONS... 2 TO 6 INCHES OF SNOW.
  • WINDS... WEST 5 MPH OR LESS.
  • IMPACTS... THE WINTRY PRECIPITATION WILL RESULT IN HAZARDOUS TRAVEL CONDITIONS... ESPECIALLY ON BRIDGES... OVERPASSES...AND UNTREATED ROADS. PARKING LOTS AND SIDEWALKS WILL BECOME SLIPPERY AS WELL.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

A WINTER WEATHER ADVISORY MEANS UP TO 6 INCHES OF SNOW IS EXPECTED ACROSS THE ADVISORY AREA. SLIPPERY ROADS CAN BE EXPECTED... SO MOTORISTS SHOULD PLAN FOR A SLOWER THAN NORMAL TRIP. BE ESPECIALLY ALERT WHEN APPROACHING BRIDGES... OVERPASSES... AND CURVES.
