UNCASVILLE, Conn. (AP) - Alex Bentley scored 18 points and the Connecticut Sun beat the short-handed Los Angeles Sparks 80-76 in overtime on Friday night for their seventh straight victory.
Connecticut (7-1) is off to its best start since winning eight of its first nine games in 2008.
Camille Little added 14 points for Connecticut. The Sun scored the first six points of overtime and Los Angeles didn't hit its first field goal until the 5.3-second mark.
Jantel Lavender had 22 points and 12 rebounds for Los Angeles (0-6). Andrea Hoover, a rookie from Dayton, made her first WNBA start for Los Angeles and had season-high 17 points in 40 minutes. Nneka Ogwumike, in her second game back after an ankle injury, scored 14 points.
SKY 83, FEVER 77
INDIANAPOLIS (AP) - Cappie Pondexter scored 23 points and Chicago beat Indiana for its third straight victory.
WNBA scoring leader Elena Delle Donne had a season-low 14 points and a season-high 14 rebounds, two nights after scoring a career-high 45 points in a home victory over the Atlanta Dream. The former Delaware star was 6 for 6 from the line to push her free-throw streak to 40 straight. She's 73 of 75 this season.
Allie Quigley added 17 points for the Sky (5-3).
Marissa Coleman led Indiana (3-6) with 16 points, and Shenise Johnson had 15.
SHOCK 71, LIBERTY 62
TULSA, Okla. (AP) - Riquna Williams scored 11 points, hitting three of Tulsa's 10 3-pointers, and the Shock beat New York for their seventh straight victory.
Plenette Pierson and Skylar Diggins added nine points apiece for Tulsa (7-1). Diggins was held under double figures for the first time this season. The Shock lead the league in 3-point shooting percentage and made 10 of 24 against the Liberty.
Sugar Rodgers led New York (4-4) with 12 points in her second career start. Tina Charles had nine points and eight rebounds.
DREAM 72, MYSTICS 69
ATLANTA (AP) - Angel McCoughtry scored 18 points and Matee Ajavon had 17 to help Atlanta beat Washington.
Ajavon scored nine points in the decisive third quarter and McCoughtry added eight. Atlanta trailed 36-31 at halftime, but outscored Mystics 21-9 in the third.
Sancho Lyttle had 12 points, 10 rebounds and five steals for Atlanta (4-6). McCoughtry, the WNBA's second-leading scorer, had 21 points in Atlanta's 64-61 win over Washington on June 12.
Ivory Latta scored 18 points for Washington (5-3).
