Missouri defensive tackle Harold Brantley is in good condition and "recovering nicely" from injuries sustained in a car accident Sunday afternoon south of the university, Missouri officials said Monday.

The press release said Brantley should fully recover and "the prognosis is very good long term."

Per head football athletic trainer Rex Sharp, Brantley fractured the tibia in his left leg and underwent surgery Sunday night. He also suffered ligament damage in his left knee and will require surgery in about three or four weeks. Brantley also fractured multiple ribs and is scheduled to leave intensive care at University Hospital today.

Sharp could not put a time frame on Brantley's return to football-related activities.

Missouri basketball player Maddie Stock, who was also in the car, suffered "minor bumps and bruises" according to the women's basketball team's Twitter account. Results from her CT scan were negative and she was released Sunday from University Hospital.

Neither Stock nor Brantley were wearing seat belts in the car, which overturned after hitting a guardrail on southbound U.S. 63.
