Your Opinion: "Cloward-Piven strategy'

Dear Editor:

I'm writing to offer a perspective on the increasing evidence of what Obama meant by his statement: "We are five days away from fundamentally transforming the United States of America." - Barack Obama, October 30, 2008." His hidden agenda was actually his vision of implementation of the "Cloward-Piven strategy". For those readers like myself, who have never heard of this liberal leftist Democrat party strategy I refer to an excellent short version written 1/18/2014 by retired U.S. Army lieutenant colonel and former member of the United States House of Representatives Allen B. West.

• "Lower the number of unemployed along with the intensity of their employment with more part-time work."

• "Increase dependency on government to support the unemployed, and tip the balance past 50-50."

• "Stretch the ability of the productive to support the unproductive."

• "Stress the system until the dense urban centers explode with civil unrest driven by social media."

• "Use curfews and martial law to quell the unrest, leading to strict regimentation of the civilian populace-until the system is on the cusp of a catastrophic collapse."

•. The central government steps in to save the day, and brings order with boots on necks; and statists in both parties agree: It must be done."

This piece was written over six months before the Ferguson riots which started 8/9/2014, and were clear evidence of the implementation of predictions four, five, and six above. 0The New York riot followed in December, 2014 and then the Baltimore riot in April and May, 2015 and both were managed by Democrat administrations on the same basis which was essentially for the police to stand down. Of course their decisions were enabled and the results fueled by the leftist mainstream media always hungry for graphic TV news coverage.

Only time (and election results) will tell whether the Democrats goal of implementation of the "Cloward-Piven strategy" will be successful or whether America will survive as a free nation. The last line of Abraham Lincoln's Gettysburg Address is as applicable today as was in 1863: "that this nation, under God, shall have a new birth of freedom - and that government of the people, by the people, for the people, shall not perish from the earth."
