STOCKTON - The Helias High School team of Trent Distler and Hudson Lee placed third in the inaugural Teen Anglers Tournament Series Championship held Saturday and Sunday at Stockton Lake.
Distler and Lee ended up with a two-day total of 21.83 pounds in the bass-fishing event, recording 6.53 pounds on the final day after racking up 15.3 on the opening day.
The 79-team event was won by Dalton Combs and Joe Satterly of Ozark High School, who posted a total of 21.99 pounds. Brandon Durr and Hunter Gill of Republic High School came in second with 21.87 pounds.
Also competing for Helias was the team of Lauren Plunkett and Cole Rice, which finished 56th with a total of 8.32 pounds.
To be eligible for the Championship, teams were scored at three qualification tournaments, with their best two finishes reflecting their qualifying mark. The top five teams from participating schools that met other eligibility requirements then advanced to the Championship.
