FARMINGTON - Four area competitors took part in the Missouri Women's Golf Association Junior Amateur Championship that was held last week.
The two-day, stroke-play event was held Thursday and Friday on the par-72, 5,703-yard layout at Crown Pointe Golf Club.
The championship flight was won by Elizabeth Leath of Chesterfield, who was the only player to break par in the event by carding a 1-under score of 70-73-143. Brooke Thompson (Jefferson City High School) finished sixth with a 10-over total of 75-79-154 and Taylor Hayes (School of the Osage High School) was seventh at 12-over after shooting 74-82-156.
In the A Flight, Lauren Plunkett (Helias High School) was sixth (26-over, 83-87-170) and Jenna Kostmatka (Helias High School) tied for seventh (29-over, 84-89-173).
