BOSTON (AP) - Russell Martin delivered the go-ahead hit for the second straight day, a leadoff home run in the 11th inning Saturday that sent the Toronto Blue Jays to their 10th straight win, 5-4 over the Boston Red Sox.
The winning streak is Toronto's longest since it took 11 in a row in June 2013.
Boston lost its fifth straight game and fell a season-worst nine games under .500.
On Friday night, Martin hit a tiebreaking, bases-loaded triple during a nine-run burst in the seventh for a 13-10 victory. On Saturday, he drove a 2-0 pitch from Matt Barnes (2-2) deep into the left-center field stands for his 10th homer of the season.
Brett Cecil pitched a perfect 11th for his fourth save, and second in two days, to preserve the win for Aaron Loup (2-3).
INDIANS 5, TIGERS 4
DETROIT (AP) - Justin Verlander pitched five effective innings in his season debut for Detroit, but Carlos Santana and Carlos Carrasco led Cleveland to victory.
Verlander had been on the disabled list with a right triceps strain. The former AL MVP and Cy Young Award winner reached 97 mph with his fastball and gave up two runs and three hits in five innings. He struck out two, walked two and left with a 3-2 lead.
Santana homered and Carrasco (8-5) allowed three runs and seven hits in 5 2/3 innings.
Blaine Hardy (2-1) took the loss.
PIRATES 4, PHILLIES 3
PITTSBURGH (AP) - Gerrit Cole allowed two runs in six innings to become the first pitcher in the majors to 10 victories this season as Pittsburgh edged Philadelphia.
Cole (10-2) struck out seven without a walk to trim his ERA to a major-league best 1.71 while winning his fifth consecutive start. The 24-year-old is now 14-2 in 18 starts dating to last September.
Starling Marte had three hits and an RBI for Pittsburgh. Gregory Polanco added two hits and Andrew McCutchen drove in two runs as Pittsburgh handed the Phillies their ninth straight road loss. Mark Melancon worked a perfect ninth for his 20th save.
Sean O'Sullivan (1-5) muddled through six innings, walking four with just one strikeout.
ORIOLES 9, YANKEES 4
BALTIMORE (AP) - Manny Machado homered and had four RBIs, Nolan Reimold hit a two-run drive and Baltimore overcame a milestone achievement by Alex Rodriguez in a win over the Yankees.
David Lough added a solo shot for the Orioles, who have won six straight to climb over .500 (31-30) for the first time since May 4. Baltimore has amassed 20 runs and 31 hits in the first two games of the series and will vie for a sweep on Sunday.
Rodriguez hit a two-run homer to join Hank Aaron as the only members of the exclusive 2,000-RBI club. The sixth-inning drive off Bud Norris lifted A-Rod's career RBI total to 2,001. Hank Aaron ranks first on the career list with 2,297. It was the 666th career home run for Rodriguez, fourth on baseball's all-time list behind Babe Ruth, Aaron and Barry Bonds.
After Rodriguez tied the game, Baltimore went up 7-4 in the bottom half against Chris Martin (0-2).
Chaz Roe (2-0) pitched 2 1/3 innings for Baltimore, part of a scoreless effort by the bullpen in relief of Norris.
RANGERS 11, TWINS 7
ARLINGTON, Texas (AP) - Mitch Moreland and Joey Gallo hit back-to-back, impressive home runs and Texas sent Minnesota to its fifth straight loss.
The Twins were without outfielder Torii Hunter, who dropped the appeal of his two-game suspension for an equipment-throwing rant and started serving the penalty.
Minnesota was the only AL team Colby Lewis (6-3) hadn't beaten as a Ranger.
Mike Pelfrey (5-3) allowed eight runs and 11 hits in 3 2-3 innings.
Both teams got seven extra-base hits. The Twins said 21-year-old outfielder Byron Buxton, considered by many the best prospect in the minors, was being promoted from Double-A and would make his major league debut Sunday.
MARINERS 8, ASTROS 1
HOUSTON (AP) - Logan Morrison homered twice and tied a career high with five RBIs to help Seattle cruise past Houston.
The Mariners tagged Collin McHugh (6-3) for five runs in the first inning, a day after Houston roughed up Felix Hernandez for eight runs in the opening frame.
Rookie starter Mike Montgomery (1-1) allowed six hits and one run in six innings. He became the second player in franchise history to pitch at least six innings while allowing two earned runs or fewer in each of his first three career starts and the first since Bob Stoddard in 1981.
MARLINS 4, ROCKIES 1
MIAMI (AP) - Mat Latos struck out a season-high 11 over seven innings, Giancarlo Stanton homered and drove in four runs, and Miami beat Colorado.
Latos (2-4) gave up one run and four hits while making his first start since May 21 due to left knee inflammation. He earned his first victory since May 5 at Washington.
Stanton had a two-run double in the first and a two-run homer, his 23rd.
A.J. Ramos pitched a perfect ninth for his eighth save in 11 chances.
David Hale (2-1) allowed four runs in six innings for the Rockies, who have lost four straight.
RAYS 5, WHITE SOX 4
ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. (AP) - Steve Souza Jr. hit a tying RBI single, stole second with the help of a replay challenge and scored the go-ahead run on an error, lifting Tampa Bay over Chicago.
Souza's two-out single off Zach Putnam (1-2) drove in David DeJesus in the eighth. Souza then swiped second and Asdrubal Cabrera was walked intentionally before Jake Elmore hit a bouncer up the middle.
Shortstop Alexei Ramirez fielded the grounder, but made a wild throw while trying to get the out at second. Souza rounded third and scored the winning run.
Rays reliever Brad Boxberger (4-3) got the win. Jake McGee worked the ninth for his third save.
CARDINALS 3, ROYALS 2
ST. LOUIS (AP) - Call-up Tyler Lyons had a solid outing and Mark Reynolds homered as St. Louis beat Kansas City for the second straight day.
Alex Gordon and Salvador Perez homered for the Royals, who took two of three from the Cardinals at home last month and will be trying to avoid a sweep in the finale.
Lyons (1-0) allowed two runs and three hits in five innings. He failed to make an impression in three starts earlier in the year in place of injured Adam Wainwright, entering with a 5.54 ERA, but fared much better replacing injured Lance Lynn.
Trevor Rosenthal got four outs for his league-leading 21st save in 22 chances.
BRAVES 5, METS 3, 11 INNINGS
NEW YORK (AP) - Cameron Maybin had a two-run single in the 11th inning and Atlanta rallied past New York.
Freddie Freeman tied it for Atlanta with two outs in the ninth, hitting an RBI single. Facing a Mets bullpen without closer Jeurys Familia, whose son was born while he was finishing off Friday night's win, the Braves came back to end a five-game skid against New York.
Maybin's single was off Carlos Torres (2-3).
Jason Grilli (2-2) pitched one inning for the win. Williams Perez got his first career save.
NATIONALS 7, BREWERS 2
MILWAUKEE (AP) - Yunel Escobar and Wilson Ramos hit two-run homers and Bryce Harper continued his offensive surge by driving in two runs as Washington topped Milwaukee.
The Nationals have won just four of their last 15.
Harper finished 3 for 3, but was hit by a pitch in the ninth and left the game.
Joe Ross (1-1) won for the first time in his major league career by scattering seven hits in eight solid innings. Jimmy Nelson (3-7) took the loss.
DIAMONDBACKS 4, GIANTS 2
SAN FRANCISCO (AP) - Allen Webster pitched into the sixth inning to win in his Arizona debut, Paul Goldschmidt had two hits and an RBI and the Diamondbacks beat San Francisco.
Webster (1-0), who spent the first two months in the minors after starting 11 games for Boston last season, was called up before the game and didn't allow a hit until Joe Panik's double with one out in the sixth. The Arizona right-hander gave up two runs and two hits with two strikeouts and three walks.
David Peralta and A.J. Pollock added two hits apiece for the Diamondbacks, who have won five of the last six against the defending World Series champs.
Buster Posey had an RBI double for San Francisco, which has lost seven straight at AT&T Park, its longest skid at home since 2008.
The Diamondbacks drew four walks off Giants starter Ryan Vogelsong (4-5) in the first and gave Webster a three-run cushion before he even took the mound.

ANAHEIM, Calif. (AP) - Albert Pujols homered in the first inning and C.J. Wilson pitched seven innings of two-hit ball to lead Los Angeles.
Wilson (4-5) struck out eight and walked three in his first scoreless outing since April 7, when he allowed two hits over eight innings in a victory at Seattle. The left-hander was 1-3 with a 6.00 ERA his previous five starts - including a loss at Yankee Stadium last Sunday, when he gave up a season-worst six runs along with seven hits and three homers in seven innings.
Joe Smith pitched a perfect eighth and Huston Street got three outs for his 19th save in 21 attempts, one night after he needed 26 pitches to preserve a 5-4 victory against his former club.
Kendall Graveman (3-3) went the distance for the first time in nine career starts, allowing eight hits and striking out eight.
PADRES 2, DODGERS 1
SAN DIEGO (AP) - Justin Upton hit a solo homer with two outs in the eighth inning off Zack Greinke to lift San Diego.
Upton hit a 3-2 slider into the stands in left field. Dodgers manager Don Mattingly challenged the play, contending a fan may have reached over the wall trying to catch the ball. The call was upheld in 42 seconds.
Greinke, who came in 5-0 with a 1.53 ERA against San Diego in 10 career starts, had pitched well into the eighth inning.
The right-hander had allowed just one run and seven hits and had retired the first two batters of the inning before Upton his 13th homer of the season.
Ian Kennedy matched Greinke through seven innings, allowing one run and four hits with four strikeouts and one walk. After breaking a string of four consecutive defeats with a 9.31 ERA, Kennedy turned in his third straight strong start.
CUBS 4, REDS 3
CHICAGO (AP) - Starlin Castro's RBI single in the ninth inning lifted Chicago past Cincinnati in a rain-delayed game.
Kris Bryant led off the ninth with a double before Miguel Montero was hit by a pitch to bring up Castro, who singled to center field off Tony Cingrani (0-3).
Jason Motte (3-1) allowed two hits and struck out one in scoreless ninth for the Cubs, who have won five of seven.
Eugenio Suarez tied the game for the Reds in the top of the sixth with a two-run home run off James Russell soon after the game was resumed from a 2-hour, 48-minute rain delay.
The Wrigley Field videoboards showed the Stanley Cup Final game between the Chicago Blackhawks and Tampa Bay Lightning. The Blackhawks won 2-1 to a take a 3-2 series lead.
