Minor, moderate flooding reported in Missouri

KANSAS CITY, Mo. (AP) - Several Missouri waterways are spilling over their banks as wet spring weather continues.

The National Weather Service is reporting moderate flooding along the Missouri River at St. Joseph and Glasgow, the Platte River near Agency and the Grand River near Sumner. Minor flooding is occurring along the Platte River at Sharps Station, the Missouri River at Sibley, Napoleon and Waverly, and the Mississippi River at Chester and Cape Girardeau.

The Weather Service has issued several flood warnings. Water is mostly spilling onto farmland. But the Missouri Department of Transportation is reporting that flooding is closing roads in several mostly northern counties, including Atchison, Nodaway, Andrew, Buchanan, Chariton, Shelby, Adair and Franklin.
