Your Opinion: Helpful officers serve as example of majority

Dear Editor:

On May 31, I received a text while driving on U.S.50 through Jefferson City. I pulled to the side of the highway to read and respond leaving my right turn signal flashing.

Within two minutes red and blue lights were flashing behind me. The JCPD officer came up to my truck to ask if I was having car problems or in other need of assistance. After I explained why I pulled over he wished me a good day and left.

This is an example of the unsung majority of law enforcement officers who try to serve and protect the public. I didn't get the officer's name but I'd like to publicly thank him for his concern.
