After six months of renovation, Frosted Art Studio is baking in its new Jefferson City location at 202 E. High St.
Owner Carol Wieberg has overseen a complete refurbishing of the downtown building, replacing an unsafe porch with a brand new front facade and overhauling the interior with fresh paint, flooring and decorative chandeliers appropriately matched to Frosted Art's elaborate desserts.
The bakery, which had closed its former Jefferson Street home of three years in anticipation of the renovation and move, is now taking orders for custom cakes, cookies and specialty desserts.
The new Frosted Art Studio is still awaiting its tables and chairs to complete the revamped look. But once they arrive, the bakery will be open for walk-in customers from 11 a.m.-6 p.m. Wednesdays through Fridays, offering a variety of prepared cookies, cakes and pies. "It will be something different every week," Wieberg said.
She anticipates the bakery will be ready for walk-ins in July, when it will also begin hosting dessert-decorating classes.
