Anderson inducted into MIAA Hall of Fame

Missouri men's basketball coach Kim Anderson was inducted into the Mid-America Intercollegiate Athletics Association Hall of Fame on Wednesday at the MIAA's annual awards celebration at the Kansas City Plaza Library.

Anderson coached Central Missouri for 12 years in the MIAA, winning nearly 75 percent of his games and earning a Division II national championship in 2014. The Mules appeared in seven NCAA Tournaments and three Final Fours during Anderson's tenure.

"It is a tremendous honor and a great addition to the many great memories those Central Missouri teams made in Warrensburg," Anderson said. "The Mid-America Intercollegiate Athletics Association had some of the most competitive basketball in the country throughout my tenure as head coach. It is special to think so many of those UCM teams did so well in that conference. I accept this honor on behalf of the many great student-athletes who came through Central Missouri."

Anderson, one of the 10 winningest coaches in Division II history, won or shared six regular season conference titles with the Mules, winning 30 games three teams. A Missouri grad, he worked for a combined 11 years as an assistant during two stints at Missouri before coaching Central Missouri. In 2014-15, Anderson went 9-23 in his first season as Missouri's head coach.
