I-70 lanes in St. Louis open again after water main break

ST. LOUIS (AP) - The eastbound lanes of Interstate 70 in St. Louis have reopened after closure for about an hour when a water main break flooded the pavement.

The break happened around 12:15 p.m. Friday. All lanes were open again by 1:15 p.m.

The break occurred near fields that are part of the Mathews-Dickey Boys' & Girls' Club in northwest St. Louis. The water ran down a hillside and flooded the eastbound section of the busy interstate.

Authorities say several cars drove into the high water before the roadway was closed, but no injuries were reported.
