Jefferson City man accused of multiple sex crimes

A Jefferson City man is facing multiple sex crime charges for incidents that occurred between May 1 and Wednesday.

Maurice Hogan, 34, is charged with first-degree statutory rape, three counts of first-degree child molestation and one count of sexual misconduct involving a child.

Court records show the victim was 7 years old, and Hogan exposed his genitals to her.

The victim also disclosed in an interview that Hogan had sex with her while her mother was at work.

Hogan was living with the family of the victim at the time, and the victim said the incidents occurred "since school was out this year."

The child molestation charges and sexual misconduct charge involved two girls under the age of 14 who were also living in the home with Hogan at the same time.

They indicated on more than one occasion Hogan had sex with them while their mother was at work. They also said he told the girls to come into his bed, where he removed their clothing and touched their private areas.

All the girls said Hogan told them they would face repercussions if they told their mother what happened.

When interviewed by authorities, Hogan denied having sexual relations with the girls, but did admit touching their private parts.

As of Thursday, Hogan was being held in the Cole County Jail on $250,000 bond.

Hogan is currently on probation since being evicted from the residence where these incidents occurred.
