Local woman gets 4 years in prison for heroin

A Jefferson City woman has been sentenced to four years in prison after pleading guilty to possession of heroin.

Stephanie Sandfort, 30, pleaded before Judge Dan Green on Wednesday.

She had been charged in connection with a drug raid in March in the 200 block of Center Street.

Members of the Jefferson City Police Department's SWAT team and the MUSTANG Drug Task Force were involved in the raid.

A search of the residence found approximately 4.8 ounces of pre-packaged, for-sale crack cocaine and powder cocaine in a bag under a storage container of clothes in a bedroom.

In a bedroom closet, a stolen .40-caliber handgun was located with eight rounds of ammunition in the magazine. A box containing 42 rounds of 9mm Luger ammunition was also found in the closet.

There was also $1,900 in currency located in a jacket in a closet, and another 9mm handgun was found with seven rounds in the magazine.

Two digital scales and baggie materials were located in the kitchen of the residence.
