ST. JAMES, Mo. (AP) - A search continues for a 13-year-old Missouri boy who's been missing since last week.
The National Center for Missing and Exploited Children (NCMEC) said Tuesday that Johnathan Shay left his grandmother's home in St. James on June 9. The center says he was last seen wearing a gray t-shirt, blue shorts and black tennis shoes.
Authorities indicate the boy left his grandmother's and headed into the woods with a cousin, who was found Friday by officers from the Missouri State Highway Patrol in St. James.
Law enforcement searched the area over the weekend with dogs and helicopters.
The missing boy's mother, Melissa Perkins, says her son, who is autistic, has wandered off before. The Phelps County Sheriff's department says the search continued Tuesday.
Anyone with information about the case is asked to call NCMEC at 800-843-5678 or the Phelps County sheriff at 573-426-3860.
