Jefferson City's soon-to-open Sam's Club began doing business at its gas station last Tuesday.
Located on the northwest corner of the Sam's Club lot at 849 Stoneridge Pky., the gas station is open from 6 a.m.-9 p.m. Mondays through Saturdays and 9 a.m.-7 p.m. Sundays. The station accepts only credit payments, no cash, and it is not accompanied by a convenience store. It offers unleaded, premium and diesel fuel.
The gas station is available only for Sam's Club members.
Sam's Club representatives will be on site selling club memberships from about 9 a.m.-7 p.m. every day through the grand opening. Annual memberships cost $45, but the local Sam's Club continues to offer "savings memberships" at that price along with a $15 gift card until the grand opening weekend.
Sam's Club often has a reputation of having habitually cheaper fuel prices. Jefferson City's Sam's Club gas station opened Tuesday with unleaded fuel at $2.53 per gallon, while other Jefferson City stations were in range at anywhere between $2.53 and $2.59 per gallon that day.
The Sam's Club store has set a grand opening date of July 23.
