Dear Editor:
Each summer as various cities have festivals and celebrations, I read of the "eating contests" and just shudder. With all of the hungry people in our nation who would love to have just one hot dog, the "winner" of this absurd contest ate 62, which could feed 62 homeless and hungry.
Wouldn't it be a better idea to take all of that food for the contest and deliver it to a local Food Bank. Wake up planners of these festivities to the reality of our hungry nation.
