Jacqueline Morrow - June State Employee of the Month

Jacqueline Morrow puts effort, initiative and caring into everything she does as a child support specialist with the Missouri Social Services Department's Family Support Division, said Shauna Adkinson, another child support specialist who nominated Morrow for the State Employee of the Month award.

"Jackie is a very hard and dedicated worker who goes out of her way to not only help clients but those she works with," Adkinson said.

Morrow is good at her job and a joy to work with, she said.

"I have seen the kindness of the people who work in this office; (they) have shown their love and kindness toward others," Adkinson said.

As an example, a young girl came into the support offices in late fall 2014. She was upset and crying because she was stranded in Jefferson City from her home much farther north, Adkinson recalled. The girl had no phone, no coat and no car.

Several people in the office helped the girl. One person allowed the girl to use her phone to call her mother to secure a train ticket. And someone gave her money for food so she could have a meal somewhere warm until the train station opened.

"Jackie Morrow gave the young girl the coat off of her back," Adkinson said. "I am so proud to work in such a great place with the wonderful people in this office, like Jackie, who would go without so that someone else could have!"

Missouri's State Employee of the Month is selected by the State Employee of the Month Selection Committee from among nominations submitted by the 16 state departments and some elected offices. The six committee members also are members of the State Training Advisory Council.
