Case against second Saudi man provisionally dismissed

SPRINGFIELD, Mo. (AP) - An assault and kidnapping case against two Saudi nationals in Springfield could end with no one found guilty.

A woman accused Rayan Alqabbaa and Ahmed Alanazi in 2013 of taking her from a Springfield nightclub and sexually assaulting her. Alanazi was found not guilty last August.

On Wednesday, Greene County Circuit Judge Mark Powell ruled that the case against Alqabbaa will be dismissed in 30 days unless he is instructed or prohibited from doing otherwise.

The Springfield News-Leader reports (http://sgfnow.co/1yQtJ0D) the men, who were students at Missouri State University, originally had bond set at $1 million each, which Saudi Arabia paid. The bond was later reduced to $100,000 each and the Saudi Arabian consulate was given a $1.8 million refund.
