Local man gets prison over chase charges

A Jefferson City man will be spending three years in prison for pleading guilty to charges in connection with a chase with authorities last June.

Bryce Vittetoe, 27, was charged with first-degree tampering, resisting arrest and driving while revoked.

He must also pay a fine and restitution as part of his sentence.

A Jefferson City Police Department probable cause statement shows officers responded to the area of Routes C and V, where they found a stolen vehicle from Eldon was being driven.

In the 1200 block of West Edgewood Drive, officers failed in an attempt to stop Vittetoe, which started the pursuit.

The pursuit went through the city and Cole County before coming to an end in Moniteau County when Vittetoe crashed the vehicle.

He fled on foot into a field and was eventually caught.
