Westminster College junior Deion Hughes has been named to the 2015 D3baseball.com Preseason All-America team.
Hughes (Helias High School) earned honorable mention honors as a utility player from the website. The preseason teams are compiled by using previous All-American and All-Region teams.
Hughes was the first baseball player in Westminster history to be named to the ABCA All-American Second Team last season. He earned First Team All-Central Region honors and was named to the St. Louis Intercollegiate Athletics Conference First Team last season.
Hughes helped his team to a 21-14 record last year. He hit .361 with one home run and 26 RBI with an on-base percentage of .434. He made nine starts as a pitcher, going 8-1 with a 1.94 earned-run average and 79 strikeouts in 55 2/3 innings.
