Jefferson City High School celebrated Winter Sports this past week with an assembly, basketball game and dance.
Jaycie Sabala, daughter of Jon and Sylvia Sabala, was crowned Winter Sports queen. She is on the cross country and track and field teams, on Student Council, editor of the Red and Black and was Student of the Month. Her assembly escorts were Jawb Rwoneka and Joshua Sabala, and her game escort was Ross Whitehead.
The Winter Sports court was:
• Meredith Manda, daughter of Ted Wedel and Melissa Manda. She is a member of First Presbyterian Church. She is a figure skater with Capital Classics, on Debate Team, in National Honor Society and Key Club. Her assembly escorts were: Spencer Bone and Michael Manda; her game escort was Jacob Ruboneka and dance escort was Mitch Giroir.
• Madeline Brown, daughter of Tom and Cathy Brown. She is a member of Woodcrest Chapel. She plays tennis, is in Key Club, Student Council, National Honor Society, on the honor roll, is a Scholar Athlete and Student of the Month. Her assembly escorts were: O.G. Anunoby and Ross Whitehead, and her game escort was Adam Rush.
• Jessica Van Bunten, daughter of Larry Van Gunter and Sara Bryan. She is a member of St. Joseph Cathedral. She is on JC Dance Team and Elite Performing Arts Competition Dance Team. Her assembly escorts were: Isaac Roling and Jastin Magallenes, and her game escort was Ethan Kolb. Her dance escort was Jordan Boyd.
• Alyssa Lange, daughter of Todd and Kimberly Lange. She is a member of Capital City Christian Church. She is in concert choir and Chorale, J-City Riot, One-A-Chord and all district honor choir. Her assembly escorts were: Hayden Desha and Elijah Jacobs; her game escort was Elijah Jacobs.
