1 killed, 1 wounded in northwest Missouri shooting

FAUCETT (AP) - A 34-year-old man has been charged with killing a man and wounding a woman after driving through the closed garage door of a rural northwest Missouri home.

The St. Joseph News-Press reports that 34-year-old Daron Simpson was charged Saturday night in Buchanan County with second-degree murder in the death of 36-year-old Andrew Clary.

He is being held on a $5,000 cash bond with a $70,000 surety. It wasn't immediately known if he had an attorney.

Col. Bill Puett of the Buchanan County Sheriff's Office said Simpson used a handgun to fatally shoot Clary and seriously wound 33-year-old Amanda Simpson shortly before 2 a.m. Saturday north of Faucett. He turned himself in about an hour later.

Puett declined to elaborate on the relationship between the shooter and the two victims.
