Jefferson City man convicted of drug sale

A sentencing date is pending after a Cole County Jury found a Jefferson City man guilty of selling cocaine this week after deliberating about an hour.

The case of Jerry White, 30, stemmed from an undercover operation involving the controlled buy of crack cocaine from White in May 2011.

Officers testified that White sold the cocaine to a confidential informant for $100.

Before the trial, the court ruled the defendant was a prior drug offender with a prior felony conviction for a drug-related crime. White's sentencing range will be that of a Class A felony, punishable from 10 years to 30 years or life in prison.
