Missouri State sophomore Erin Struemph (St. Elizabeth High School) was named a preseason all-Missouri Valley Conference selection on Wednesday. The pitcher led the Bears with a 3.35 ERA last season, tallying 155 strikeouts and three saves.
Struemph, who was twice named the MVC Newcomer of the Week last season, is the second consecutive Missouri State sophomore named to the preseason all-MVC team.
As a team the Bears were picked to finish seventh in the 10-team conference with 46 points. Witchita State (94 points) was selected to finish first.
