LAWRENCE, Kan. (AP) - Nina Davis had 24 points and 14 rebounds, Imani Wright added 16 points and No. 3 Baylor held off the pesky Kansas Jayhawks to win 71-63 on Saturday.

Chelsea Gardner added 17 points and freshman Lauren Aldridge finished with 14 points for Kansas (9-9, 0-5).

Baylor (16-1, 5-0) charged out to a 6-0 lead to start the game, with the first four points of the game coming from Niya Johnson. Kansas would cut Baylor's lead to three with a three-point bucket from Terriell Bradley, but that was the closest Kansas would come until later in the first half.

With nine minutes left in the first half, Wright drove home a layup that spurred an 11-2 run that put Kansas down by 11 points.

Kansas had some life after freshman Lauren Aldridge hit a 3-pointer with three minutes left to play, but Baylor took the momentum to the locker room after Davis hit her second free throw before time expired.

No. 4 TEXAS 55, TEXAS TECH 44

AUSTIN, Texas (AP) - Brady Sanders scored nine points, sparking the big second-half burst for Texas as the Longhorns ended a two-game losing skid with a win over Texas Tech.

The Longhorns had one of the best starts in school history before losing consecutive games at Iowa State and Oklahoma. The return home produced a return to form as Texas outscored Texas Tech 24-10 in the paint and got 41 points off the bench.

Sanders scored seven in a two-minute burst in the second half that opened up a double-digit lead after the Lady Raiders had pulled within four.

Nekia Jones added 11 points for the Longhorns (14-2, 3-2 Big 12), which held Texas Tech to 27 percent shooting.

Lanay Montgomery grabbed 12 of WVU's 52 rebounds and blocked six shots.

The Cowgirls (12-4, 2-3 Big 12) shot just 28.8 percent, including 2 of 14 from long distance. They went scoreless over a span of 4:39 when WVU built 56-42 lead with 1:26 left. Lashawn Jones scored 12 points in Oklahoma State's first home loss this season.
