JC man accused of stealing from work

A Jefferson City man is charged with stealing over $1,600 in items and giving away hundreds of dollars more while working at a Breaktime Convenience Store.

Court documents show Ralpheal McShan, 24, of 817 Southwest Blvd., is charged with felony stealing.

A Jefferson City Police Department probable cause statement shows McShan filled out an admission of guilt statement in August after being let go from his job.

McShan said he was guilty and let his anger get the best of him.

The items taken included more than 500 fountain drinks, 400 hot dogs, a pair of headphones, lighters and phone chargers.

He also wrote he had given away more than 400 fountain drinks, 50 packs of cigarettes and 60 cigars.

McShan said he began taking items in 2013 after feeling underappreciated by his managers at work. He said he would give away items and void the transactions or give the items away if customers didn't have enough money to pay for them.
