Girls Basketball: Lady Jays drop decision to Battle

At California Tournament

CALIFORNIA, Mo. - The Lady Jays finished just 9-of-22 from the free-throw line Wednesday night as Jefferson City fell to Battle, 45-38 in the semifinals of the California Tournament.

Nicole Martin scored 15 points for the Lady Jays, and Megan Foster had 13.

Jefferson City led 13-12 after one quarter but trailed 22-19 at the half and 32-25 entering the fourth quarter.

The Lady Jays (9-8) play Fulton at 2 p.m. Saturday in the third-place game of the tournament. Fulton dropped a 64-51 decision to Boonville in Wednesday's first semifinal.
