Dear Editor:
The recent vote for speaker of the House typifies what's wrong in our country. John Boehner, current House Speaker and major friend of the Democrats, won again and many phony conservatives such as Vicky Hartzler and Blaine Luetkemeyer voted lock-step to protect the status quo.
Instead of listening to the American majority (upwards of 60 percent of registered Republicans polled expressed their desire to have Boehner ousted as Speaker), these so-called conservatives are just playing party politics and self-serving interests while allowing the country to further decay.
Hartzler is a useful minion of the establishment and Luetkemeyer, well he's just being the "pragmatic" banker he is - feathering his nest at any opportunity. The representatives who came forward to nominate others or vote otherwise should be lauded for having the courage to stand up to the system.
