COLUMBIA, S.C. (AP) - Defending Southeastern Conference player of the year Tiffany Mitchell scored 13 of her 19 points in the second half to help No. 1 South Carolina to a 68-60 victory over No. 10 Kentucky on Sunday.

Mitchell shook off a 2-of-7 shooting performance in the first half to keep the Gamecocks (16-0, 4-0) this season after trailing at the half for just the third time this season. Mitchell opened the second period with a basket as South Carolina took off on a 15-6 run to take control.

The Wildcats (14-3, 3-1) closed to 50-46 on Jennifer O'Neill's bucket with 11:11 left. But Khadijah Sessions followed with her third 3-pointer to restore South Carolina's margin and Kentucky could get no closer.

The game was marred by a gruesome-looking left ankle injury to Kentucky junior Janee Thompson. She left the court on a stretcher.

No. 2 UCONN 87, SMU 28

DALLAS (AP) - Kaleena Mosqueda-Lewis broke Diana Taurasi's UConn career record for 3-pointers to help the Huskies rout SMU.

Mosqueda-Lewis hit the record-breaking shot from the top of the 3-point circle just 3:18 into the game. The senior added one more during the game for a career total of 320 in 118 games. She scored eight points in 21 minutes. Taurasi made 318 in 144 games at UConn.

Breanna Stewart had 19 points and Gabby Williams added 12 points and 16 rebounds for the Huskies (14-1, 4-0 American Athletic Conference), who led 47-9 at the half and didn't give up a point after the break for the first 12-plus minutes.

UConn, which saw its lead grow to 74-9, has won 13 straight while the Mustangs (4-11, 0-4) have dropped eight consecutive contests.

VANDERBILT 78, No. 14 MISSISSIPPI STATE 62

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (AP) - Morgan Batey matched her career-high with 18 points and grabbed 10 rebounds as Vanderbilt handed Mississippi State its first loss of the season.

Mississippi State (18-1, 3-1) had held 13 of its last 14 opponents to under 60 points. Vanderbilt's Paris Kea scored the Commodores' 60th point with 5:28 left for a 60-51 lead.

Heather Bowe and Rebekah Dahlman had 17 points apiece for Vanderbilt (9-7, 1-3 SEC).

No. 4 NOTRE DAME 104, BOSTON COLLEGE 58

SOUTH BEND, Ind. (AP) - Brianna Turner scored 21 points, including four baskets on alley-oop layups, Kathryn Westbeld added 15 points and Notre Dame outscored Boston College by 40 inside.

The Fighting Irish (15-2, 3-1 Atlantic Coast Conference) dominated from the start, jumping to a 7-0 lead in the first three minutes and led by 21 with just under nine minutes left in the first half when Mychal Johnson hit a 3-pointer. The Eagles (8-8, 0-3) struggled to get shots off, going scoreless for nearly six minutes midway through the first half, including a pair of shot clock violations during that stretch.

No. 6 LOUISVILLE 79, WAKE FOREST 68

WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. (AP) - Myisha Hines-Allen had 20 points and 10 rebounds to help Louisville rally in the second half to beat Wake Forest.

Mariya Moore added 16 points, Bria Smith 13 and Shawnta Dyer 10 for the Cardinals (15-1, 3-0 ACC), who were down 11 at the half before earning their seventh straight.

Dearica Hamby had 14 points and 11 rebounds for the Deacons (9-8, 0-3), who shot 55.6 percent in the first half to take a 42-31 lead.

But Louisville's defense forced Wake Forest into 13 second-half turnovers, leading to 14 points, and the Cardinals made 15 of 23 from the free throw line.

That allowed Louisville to rally, tying the score at 59-59 on Dyer's layup with 8:39 left. The Cardinals took the lead for good 42 seconds later on Hines-Allen's layup.

No. 7 TENNESSEE 60, ARKANSAS 51

FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. (AP) - Ariel Massengale scored all 16 of her points in the second half as Tennessee rallied past Arkansas.

The Lady Vols (14-2, 4-0 SEC) overcame a nine-point deficit in the second half and won their 10th straight game. They haven't lost since Nov. 30 and won despite shooting just 34.7 percent (17 of 49).

Massengale hit four 3-pointers as Tennessee rallied from 37-28 down to improve to 26-2 overall against the Razorbacks (10-6, 0-4). All four of the senior's field goals were 3-pointers, where she finished 4 of 8.

Cierra Burdick led the Lady Vols with 17 points, while Isabelle Harrison also finished in double figures with 13.

Jessica Jackson led Arkansas with 18 points.

No. 8 NORTH CAROLINA 96, GEORGIA TECH 81

CHAPEL HILL, N.C. (AP) - Stephanie Mavunga had 20 points and 13 rebounds to lead North Carolina over Georgia Tech.

Jessica Washington tied a career high with 16 points for the Tar Heels (15-2, 2-1 Atlantic Coast Conference), who never trailed.

Allisha Gray had 15 points and Brittany Rountree had 11 points as North Carolina bounced back from an 84-59 loss at Pittsburgh on Thursday.

Aaliyah Whiteside scored 22 points and Roddreka Rogers had 13 points and 11 rebounds for Georgia Tech (12-6, 2-2).

No. 9 TEXAS A&M 55, LSU 48

COLLEGE STATION, Texas (AP) - Jordan Jones had 12 points and Curtyce Knox added a career-high 10, including a key basket late to help Texas A&M outlast LSU.

The Tigers led by as many as seven early and got within 2 twice in the game's final minutes. The second time they had a chance to tie it, but Achiri Ade stole the ball from Danielle Ballard and Knox finished on the other end with a layup to make it 52-48.

The Aggies (15-3, 3-1 SEC) added three free throws after that to secure the victory and help them bounce back from an 81-58 loss to No. 7 Tennessee on Thursday with their 12th straight win at home.

Akilah Bethel led LSU (8-8, 2-2) with 13 points and Sheila Boykin had 11.

No. 11 OREGON ST 77, OREGON 48

EUGENE, Ore. (AP) - Ruth Hamblin scored 23 points on 11-of-17 shooting to help Oregon State rout Oregon for the second time in three nights.

The Beavers (14-1, 4-0 Pac-12) beat Oregon 70-37 on Friday night in Corvallis, holding the Ducks to their lowest point total in series history.

Jillian Alleyne had 16 points and 18 rebounds for Oregon (8-7, 1-3).

No. 12 MARYLAND 77, No. 23 MINNESOTA 73

MINNEAPOLIS (AP) - Brene Moseley made two free throws with 2.8 seconds left to give Maryland a win over stubborn Minnesota.

Minnesota's Carlie Wagner hit a trey with 32 seconds remaining to tie it at 73, setting up Moseley's game-winning foul shots. The Gophers threw away the inbounds pass and Moseley made two more free throws with 0.9 seconds left, stopping Minnesota's 10-game winning streak.

Lexie Brown scored 20 while Moseley and Shatori Walker-Kimbrough each added 15 to lift Maryland (13-2, 4-0) into first place in the Big Ten.

Amanda Zahui B. had 26 points and 15 rebounds to lead Minnesota (14-2, 3-1).

FLORIDA STATE 74, No. 13 DUKE 58

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (AP) - Adut Bulgak had 18 points and a career-high 18 rebounds and Florida State closed with a 16-3 run to upset Duke.

Leticia Romero came off the bench to add 16 points for the Seminoles (15-2, 2-1 ACC) and Megan Conwright had 13. Bulgak had five points in the closing run and Romero and Conwright hit back-to-back 3-pointers after two Kai James free throws to put FSU up 66-55 with 2:31 to play.

Rebecca Greenwell led the Blue Devils (11-5, 2-1) with 17 points, including four 3-pointers that has already lifted to her eighth on the Duke freshman list with 31. Azura Stevens added 17 points.

Duke had won 36 straight ACC games in January since a 2009 loss at FSU.

No. 15 STANFORD 86, WASHINGTON STATE 76

PULLMAN, Wash. (AP) - Amber Orrange scored 19 points, Bonnie Samuelson added 18 and Stanford needed overtime to hold off Washington State.

It was all Stanford (12-4, 4-0 Pac-12) in overtime, as Orrange made a jumper, fed Kaylee Johnson for an uncontested layup, and Lili Thompson drilled a 3-pointer to give the Cardinal an insurmountable advantage.

Stanford has never lost to WSU in 58 meetings.

Washington State led at half 33-28 and had an 11-point lead in the second half.

Samuelson's 3-pointer with 11 seconds left put Stanford up by two, but Lia Galdeira's runner with 2 seconds left - WSU's only field goal in the last 6:45 of regulation - tied it at 71 and forced overtime.

Stanford's Thompson and Johnson finished with 13 points apiece. Johnson grabbed 15 rebounds.

Tia Presley paced Washington State (10-5, 1-3) with 23 points.

No. 17 IOWA 73, PURDUE 59

IOWA CITY, Iowa (AP) - Melissa Dixon scored 18 points and Ally Disterhoft added 17 to lead Iowa to a win over Purdue.

Bethany Doolittle contributed 15 for the Hawkeyes (12-3, 3-1 Big 10), who had a subpar performance behind the 3-point line.

Led by Dixon, who shoots 48.4 behind the arc for a nation leading 4.36 per game, Iowa averages 8.8 treys on 41.6 percent shooting. Dixon made 2 of 7 while the Hawkeyes finished 4 of 18 (22 percent). They made up for it at the foul line, going 17 of 19, 11 of 13 in the second half.

Purdue (9-7, 2-3) got 15 points from Ashley Morrissette, despite 1-9 shooting from 3-point range, and 13 from Whitney Bays, who was 3 of 14 from the field.

No. 19 NEBRASKA 58, ILLINOIS 53

CHAMPAIGN, Ill. (AP) - Rachel Theriot scored 27 points, including 10 straight as Nebraska closed with a 15-4 run.

The Illini (11-5, 2-2 Big Ten) were up 49-43 and looking for their second-straight win over a ranked team, when Theriot took over. She made two free throws at the 6:19 mark and when she hit a jumper with 3:06 left the Cornhuskers (12-3, 2-2) were up 53-51. Hailie Sample made a free throw, Emily Cady a jumper on a Sample assist and Brandi Jeffery made a free throw to put Nebraska up 57-51 with 14 seconds to go.

No. 20 GEORGIA 57, AUBURN 52

AUBURN, Ala. (AP) - Tiaria Griffin made four 3-pointers en route to 16 points to lead Georgia to a comeback victory over Auburn.

Griffin hit back-to-back 3-pointers from the same spot on the floor to give Georgia a 52-47 lead with 2:21 left.

Georgia's Shacobia Barbee went 1 of 2 from the free throw line for a 55-49 lead with just under a minute left. Auburn's Brandy Montgomery answered with a 3-pointer to make it 55-52 with 33 seconds remaining. Griffin hit 1 of 2 from the line with 16.9 left and Auburn missed a 3-pointer and had another blocked.

Barbee had 15 points and 11 rebounds for Georgia (15-2, 3-1 SEC).

Hasina Muhammad led Auburn (9-8, 0-4) with 18 points and Tra'Cee Tanner had 12.

No. 21 SYRACUSE 68, VIRGINIA 55

SYRACUSE, N.Y. (AP) - Alexis Peterson scored 16 points and Syracuse handled Virginia.

Peterson was 5 of 10 from the floor, including a pair of 3-pointers, and had five assists. Maggie Morrison was 4 of 5 beyond the arc for 12 points, Taylor Ford added 11 points and Briana Day chipped in with 10.

Syracuse (11-5, 1-2 ACC) jumped out early against the Cavaliers and led 12-4 after 7 ½ minutes. Virginia drew within four after a surge, but the Orange responded with an 11-2 run - including a pair of 3s by Morrison - and opened up a 41-23 lead at halftime.

Faith Randolph led Virginia (12-4, 2-1) with 24 points.
