A revamp of Brown Printing's back offices will complete a full-building renovation project that started at the Jefferson City business eight years ago.
"We are trying to match our customer experience with the type of printing company that we've become, and that's an industry-leading, high-tech company," said General Manager Jeff Davidson. "We have some new digital printing capabilities that we acquired in October, and that was about a half-million-dollar acquisition for us. The renovations are accompanying that new equipment."
Brown Printing, located at 411 Madison St., already has renovated its digital printing production area that houses the new digital press, and remodeled its front office in 2006. The latest round of renovations will improve the back offices as well as create a new break room for employees.
"We've got really beautiful windows along the side of the building that have been covered up since about the '70s. We're going to open those windows up, and it will be a really beautiful space with a lot of natural light coming into the building," Davidson said.
Once all of the construction is finished, the whole project will be about a $150,000 investment into the business.
The renovation should be complete around the end of February, Davidson said, with a ribbon-cutting ceremony to be scheduled in March.
