Goodwill worker finds $1,200 in clothing

ST. CHARLES, Mo. (AP) - Goodwill officials are trying to determine the person who left $1,200 in cash in a piece of donated clothing.

The St. Louis Post-Dispatch (http://bit.ly/1783cRX) reports that an employee of a MERS/Goodwill store in St. Charles found the money Tuesday while sorting through donated items. Goodwill officials believe the money was left in the clothing accidentally.

Goodwill CEO Lewis Chartock lauded the honesty of employee Holly Henderson, who turned in the money.

Goodwill urges donors to check pockets, bags, envelopes and small boxes before contributing.

If the person who donated the clothing can't be found, the money will go to Goodwill's sheltered workshop for people with severe disabilities and its programs to help veterans and people with autism.
