Boys Basketball: Tuscumbia to play for championship

JAMESTOWN - Zane Humphreys tallied a double-double Thursday to lead Tuscumbia to a 51-29 defeat of Jamestown in the semifinals of the Class 1 District 9 Tournament.

Humphreys scored 14 points and snagged 10 rebounds. Teammate Orrie Patterson was a point short of a double-double, racking up nine points and 13 rebounds.

Tuscumbia led 11-1 after one quarter, 18-16 at the half and 34-22 after three quarters.

Second-seeded Tuscumbia (18-8) will face fourth-seeded Prairie Home at 6 p.m. Saturday for the district championship. Prairie Home upset top-seeded Pilot Grove with a 80-54 semifinal win Thursday.

Rayce Kendrick pumped in 36 points to lead Prairie Home, while Mason Schlotzhauer paced Pilot Grove with 14.
