Lincoln women No. 8 in track rankings

The Lincoln women's indoor track and field team will enter the postseason ranked No. 8 in the country, according to the United States Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association's Division II rankings released Tuesday.

The Blue Tigers received 72.00 points after taking second Friday at the Missouri Collegiate Challenge. Lincoln is one of three MIAA programs listed in this week's rankings, with all three teams being rated in the top 10. Central Missouri is No. 2 in the nation with 130.42 points while Pittsburg State is No. 10 at 58.33 points.

Ashland continues to lead the women's ranking, claiming the top spot with 154.65 points.

Lincoln is back in action later this week at the MIAA Indoor Championships in Warrensburg. The Blue Tigers have won the last four MIAA indoor titles.
