Players, volunteers sought for Miracle League

The city's Parks and Recreation and the Jefferson City Evening Lions Club are sponsoring a non-competitive baseball league for Jefferson City area school-aged children with physical and developmental disabilities or other conditions that keep them from participating in other baseball leagues.

The Miracle League of Central Missouri is designed to help every kid, regardless of age or ability, be successful and have fun.

Registration fee is $25 and includes a six-game season and a uniform shirt and hat. Registration deadline is March 18, with play beginning May 1.

Registration forms are available at the Parks and Recreation office or online at www.jeffcitymo.org/parks/YouthSpecialBaseball.html.

Volunteers are also needed to help with this program. Baseball buddies can be individuals or groups in the Jefferson City area. Volunteering consists of helping a child during the game; catching, throwing, batting and running.
