Boys Basketball: South Callaway 76, Eugene 71

EUGENE, Mo. - With three players scoring 20 or more points, the South Callaway Bulldogs staved off Eugene in overtime 76-71 on Saturday.

Troy Hentges led South Callaway with 24 points, Cory Hanger scored 22, and Terry Miles scored 20.

The Bulldogs led 13-12 after one quarter, and Eugene took a 36-31 lead into half. South Callaway led 54-49 after three quarters, and the teams were tied at 63 at the end of regulation.

Chase Dickerson scored 19 to lead Eugene. Travis Rush scored 14, and Travis Kempker scored 13.

Eugene (18-7) plays Cuba on Tuesday in St. James for the first round of district playoffs. South Callaway hosts Hallsville at 8:30 p.m. Tuesday to open districts.

South Callaway also won the junior varsity game, defeating Eugene 61-53.

Blake Parker scored a game-high 19 for South Callaway. Brandon Ashley scored 17, and Kaden Helsel scored 11 for the Bulldogs.

Cory Love led Eugene with 15 points, and Mason Kirkwieg, Blake Rains and Zach Bond each scored 10.
