Probation in lottery ticket theft

A Jefferson City man was placed on two years unsupervised probation for pleading guilty to a charge in connection with stealing $1,500 worth of lottery tickets while working at a local convenience store.

Jerome Howard, 23, was charged with one count of felony stealing for scratching off the tickets and then throwing them in the trash while working at Beeline on Missouri Boulevard in February 2014.

Authorities said Howard was seen on store security cameras doing this.

Howard admitted to taking the tickets when questioned by authorities.
