Lincoln men fall to Missouri Western

ST. JOSEPH - The Lincoln men's basketball team lost Wednesday to Mid-America Intercollegiate Athletic Association foe Missouri Western.

Lincoln (4-22, 1-16 MIAA) led with 10:30 to play in the the men's game, but the Griffons (11-12, 7-9) made shots down the stretch to complete a season sweep of the Blue Tigers with a 65-59 decision.

The Blue Tigers tied the game at 51 with 4:57 remaining on a Malcolm McDonald jumper and pulled within one at 56-55 with 1:19 to play when Joshua Buie sunk two free throws, but the Griffons went on a 7-0 run to take the victory.

Cortrez Colbert led Missouri Western with a season-high 29 points, 11 of which came in the final 10 minutes of the game.

Buie led Lincoln with 19 points, and Aaron Spudich scored 10.

The Blue Tigers will host Lindenwood on Saturday.
