NASHVILLE, Tenn. (AP) - Colin Wilson scored the tiebreaking goal on a tic-tac-toe play with 3:27 left, leading Nashville to a 3-1 victory over the New Jersey Devils on Saturday night for the Predators' fifth straight win.

Craig Smith added an insurance goal when he swatted a shot between Cory Schneider's legs with 2:21 left.

Matt Cullen gave Nashville a 1-0 lead in the first period before Steve Bernier's power-play goal late in the second period tied it up for New Jersey.

Pekka Rinne stopped 21 shots for the Predators, who lead the NHL with 82 points and improved to 24-3-1 at home. Rinne, 14-1-1 in his last 16 games, leads the NHL with 33 wins.

The Devils lost their fourth straight.

RANGERS 5, COYOTES 1

GLENDALE, Ariz. (AP) - Rick Nash scored his NHL-best 35th goal early in a four-goal third period, and New York gave coach Alain Vigneault his 500th career win.

Cam Talbot made 34 saves, including on Tobias Rieder's third-period penalty shot, in the Rangers' third straight win.

Vigneault became the 21st coach in league history to reach the milestone, coming in his second season with the Rangers.

Chris Kreider, Marc Staal and Lee Stempniak also scored for the Rangers and Kevin Hayes added a short-handed goal.

Antoine Vermette scored for the Coyotes, while Mike Smith made 28 saves in Arizona's seventh straight home loss.

JETS 5, RED WINGS 4, SO

DETROIT (AP) - Drew Stafford scored the only shootout goal to lift Winnipeg past Detroit.

Stafford's wrister got past Detroit's Jimmy Howard in the fourth round of the tiebreaker and Michael Hutchinson stopped Stephen Weiss on the ensuing attempt to seal the win.

Howard, who missed 11 games with a partially torn groin muscle, made 34 saves for Detroit in his first start since Jan. 6. The Jets' Hutchinson stopped 25.

Ladd also had a regulation goal for Winnipeg, which improved to 14-6-4 against Eastern Conference teams this season. Pavel Datsyuk had two goals for Detroit.

The loss ended Detroit's six-game home winning streak.

CANADIENS 2, MAPLE LEAFS 1, SO

MONTREAL (AP) - Alex Galchenyuk and David Desharnais scored in the shootout to lift Montreal.

Brendan Gallagher scored in regulation and Carey Price made 28 saves for the Canadiens, who have earned points in five straight games.

Daniel Winnik scored for Toronto, which is 0-11-2 in its last 13 road games. Jonathan Bernier stopped 31-of-32 shots through regulation and extra time.

The Leafs took a first-period lead for the first time in seven games when Winnik was left alone in the right circle and beat Price at 11:19.

Toronto's advantage lasted only 41 seconds, as the Canadiens tied it on a power play when Gallagher reached into the crease to put in Tomas Plekanec's pass.

WILD 6, HURRICANES 3

ST. PAUL, Minn. (AP) - Thomas Vanek had two goals and an assist, and Devan Dubnyk stopped 24 shots to lift surging Minnesota.

The Wild nearly blew a three-goal lead during a sloppy second period, but Dubnyk helped the league's fourth-best penalty kill unit stymie a four-minute power play to prevent Carolina from tying it.

Erik Haula added a goal in the third for some insurance; Jordan Schroeder, Nate Prosser and Zach Parise also scored the Wild, who have won eight of nine.

Andrej Nestrasil, Jeff Skinner and Elias Lindholm scored for Carolina, and Anton Khudobin finished with 18 saves. Carolina lost its second straight game, missing a chance to win three of four.

Minnesota, meanwhile, extended its point streak to 10 games, tying a franchise record.

SENATORS 7, OILERS 2

OTTAWA, Ontario (AP) - Milan Michalek had two goals and an assist, leading Ottawa past Edmonton.

Kyle Turris, Cody Ceci, Alex Chiasson, Mike Hoffman and David Legwand also scored as the Senators matched their season high for goals.

Robin Lehner, making his eighth straight start for Ottawa, stopped 25 shots.

Derek Roy and Mark Fayne scored for Edmonton. Viktor Fasth allowed three goals on 15 shots before being replaced by Richard Bachman, who gave up four goals on 27 shots.

ISLANDERS 6, BLUE JACKETS 3

UNIONDALE, N.Y. (AP) - Josh Bailey scored two goals in the first period, John Tavares had two goals and two assists, and New York fought off two rallies by Columbus.

Tavares set up Bailey twice early and then gave New York two- and three-goal leads in the third. The Islanders have won four straight and six of seven. Ryan Strome and Frans Nielsen also scored, and Jaroslav Halak made 34 saves.

Brandon Dubinsky, Cam Atkinson, and Nick Foligno had goals for Columbus, which beat Philadelphia at home on Friday. Anton Forsberg stopped 40 shots as Columbus began a five-game trip.

Nielsen put the Islanders ahead for good when he converted Thomas Hickey's slap pass 1:54 into the third for his first goal in 13 games.

AVALANCHE 4, STARS 1

DENVER (AP) - Alex Tanguay had a goal and an assist, Semyon Varlamov stopped 24 shots and Colorado beat Dallas.

Jarome Iginla, Gabriel Landeskog and Dennis Everberg also scored for the Avalanche, who snapped a four-game skid.

Jason Spezza scored and Jhonas Enroth had 26 saves in his first start since being acquired from Buffalo on Wednesday.

Dallas came into the game short-handed. Leading scorer Tyler Seguin is out 3-6 weeks with a knee injury suffered in Friday night's win over Florida, and Ales Hemskey and Patrick Eaves were also out.

KINGS 3, CAPITALS 1

LOS ANGELES (AP) - Trevor Lewis and Jarret Stoll scored in the third period to lead Los Angeles.

Dwight King also scored to help the the defending Stanley Cup champion Kings win their fourth straight, their longest streak since a six-game stretch that followed season-opening losses to San Jose and Arizona. Jonathan Quick made 27 saves.

Alex Ovechkin scored for the Capitals, his 34th goal of the season and 456th of his career. That tied Detroit Red Wings great Alex Delvecchip for 54th place on the all-time list.

The Capitals lost to the Kings for the eighth time in their last nine meetings with the exception being a 4-0 win on Feb. 3 at Washington.

Braden Holtby stopped 27 shots for the Capitals.

FLAMES 3, CANUCKS 2

CALGARY, Alberta (AP) - Sean Monahan scored twice and Lance Bouma got the tiebreaker early in the third period for Calgary.

Bouma took a centering pass from David Jones and quickly fired a shot inside the goal post for his 10th goal of the season at 1:41 of the final period. Bouma came into the season with six goals in 121 career games.

Monahan had two goals nearly 5 minutes apart in the second - giving him a team-leading 19 goals on the season - to put the Flames ahead 2-1 with 8:18 to go in the period. Karri Ramo stopped 28 shots.

Ronalds Kenins scored in the first period to put Vancouver ahead, and Linden Vey tied it at 2-2 with 2:17 remaining in the second. Ryan Miller finished with 31 saves.
