Boys basketball: Linn 72, St. Elizabeth 50

ST. ELIZABETH - The Linn Wildcats held the St. Elizabeth Hornets scoreless for the first 4 1/2 minutes of the third quarter Thursday in a 72-50 victory.

St. Elizabeth led 10-9 after one quarter before Linn responded to take a 28-27 advantage at intermission. The Wildcats led 56-38 after three quarters.

Ben Klebba finished with 23 points for Linn, while Blake Snyder added 12. Tony Mebruer dished out eight assists.

Braydon Holtmeyer had 22 points for St. Elizabeth. Mason Kemna added 11 for the Hornets (3-17), who will play Tuesday at Fatima.

Linn (13-9), which has won 10 of its last 12 games, will play tonight at Chamois.
