Making health care law's deadline in Missouri

The HealthCare.gov website, where people can buy health insurance, is seen on a laptop screen. Ahead of a Sunday deadline, consumers are stepping up to enroll for coverage under President Barack Obama's health care law, administration officials said Wednesday.

Only four days are left to sign up for coverage in the Health Insurance Marketplace before open enrollment ends on Sunday. Missourians who have not yet signed up for coverage can visit Healthcare.gov before the deadline.

Since open enrollment began on Nov. 15, 7.75 million consumers selected a plan or were automatically re-enrolled through the HealthCare.gov platform, including 226,702 in Missouri.

• As of Jan. 30, 88 percent of Missouri consumers who selected health insurance plans were determined eligible for an average of $284 per person/month in advanced premium tax credits.

• In Missouri, consumers can choose from seven issuers in the marketplace in 2015 - up from four in 2014.

• As of Jan. 16, 59 percent of consumers in Missouri re-enrolled in a marketplace plan and 41 percent selected a plan for the first time.

• 80 percent of Missouri marketplace enrollees as of December could obtain coverage for $100 or less after any applicable tax credits in 2015.
