Boys Basketball: Linn holds off Russellville

Opens game with 17-0 run

RUSSELLVILLE, Mo. - The Linn Wildcats started the game on a 17-0 run, then held on for a 70-60 win against Russellville on Tuesday night.

Linn led 26-8 after the first quarter, 41-23 at halftime and 54-45 after three quarters. Russellville got the lead down to six in the fourth period but couldn't pull off the comeback.

Alec Strope dropped in 19 points to lead four Linn players in double figures. Blake Snyder added 15 and Tony Mebruer and Daulton Niederhelm had 14 apiece.

Levi Anderson tossed in a game-high 22 points for Russellville. Beau Bryant and Zach Voss each added 13 for the Indians

Linn has won nine of 11 to get to 12-9 on the season. The Wildcats will travel Thursday to St. Elizabeth.

Russellville (9-11) plays Friday at Fatima.

Linn won the JV game 31-21. Dylan Henderson and Cody Willingham led Russellville with eight points apiece.

Linn won the freshman contest 39-21 despite 13 points from Russellville's Hayden Kueffer.
