HENDERSON, Tenn. - The William Woods Owls gave up 35 points to Hayley Newby and dropped a 70-55 decision to Freed-Hardeman on Saturday.
Kennedy Volkart (Russellville High School) had a team-high 14 points for William Woods and added two rebounds and one assist.
Freed-Hardeman, the top-ranked team in NAIA Division I is now 23-1 overall and 18-0 in the American Midwest Conference. William Woods is 16-7 and 12-6.
